The Heart Behind Ua Noe

Hello! Aloha! Ia ora na!

Meet our director, instructor, and choreographer- Celia Chavez. Celia received her training from Pacific Legends where she learned Hawaiian, Tahitian, and Chamorro style dances. After learning her first routine, she completely fell in love with Polynesian dance. She continued to dance and began teaching choreography.

Unfortunately, the journey of Pacific Legends came to an end during Covid. After sometime she decided that she wanted to bring the beautiful cultural dance back to the community. Celia continues to dance and teach along side her best friend, co-coordinator, and co-instructor PaChia. They have been dancing together for 8 years and now they inspire others to continue learning about the culture and beauty of the art.

On May 21st, 2022, Ua Noe had its’ grand opening with 2 successful and fun years following. They continue to teach and share the Polynesian culture, styles, and dance in local festivals and private events. Together they welcome everyone to join their vibrant dance troupe and hope to instill confidence, joy, and skill within the dancers. Let your heart dance with ours, and remember that Polynesian dancers are real life story tellers that share stories, legends, culture, and love.
